Introduction to Divine purpose

THEME: UNDERSTANDING YOUR DIVINE LIFE PURPOSE
LESSON ONE: INTRODUCTION
MAIN TEXT – PROVERBS 16:1-11

1) DEFINITION
Well, there are multiple interpretations of what life purpose is. It may be called a spiritual calling and it can also be seen it as a higher instruction from God. Beyond religious connotations, a life purpose is simply your life’s message. It is the message you wish to drive in the world during your existence on Earth. Having a life purpose applies to all of us, whether we are religious, non-religious, or atheistic. This means that we are made by God to accomplish his desire in our living, so all must come to Him for directions.- Jeremiah 1:4-12. Well, a life purpose is the first step toward living a truly conscious life of your creation. While you can be busy with a million goals and tasks every day, when you don’t have a clear purpose (one that you believe in with your heart), you may well be barking up the wrong tree. That’s because your goals and tasks may well have nothing to do with your higher purpose in life.- Proverbs 19:21

2) DISCOVERING YOUR PURPOSE- Proverbs 3:1-8

To discover your purpose in life, you must know your creator and work according to his plan- Jeremiah 29:11. We don’t know the plan but God knows. There are principles to use to discover your life purpose:

a. God is a God of purpose.- Isaiah 46:10-11, Proverbs 16:4, Psalm 135:6
b. God created everything with a purpose- Genesis 1.
c. Not every purpose is known to us because we have lost
our understanding of God‘s original intent for us - Proverbs 16:2
d. Where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable – Isaiah 8:10, Daniel 4:35
e. To discover the purpose of something, never ask the creation; ask the creator. Leviticus 26:1, 1 Cor. 10:14, Daniel 2:27, Jeremiah 10:2
f. We find our purpose only in the mind of our Maker. Amos 5:8, Proverbs 21:1.
g. God‘s purpose is the key to our fulfillment. - Ephesians 1:11
No time is too late- Abraham discovered His’ at 70- Genesis 12 , No time is too early- Jesus discovered His’ at a tender age.

3) THE BUSINESS OF THE FATHER- Luke 2:41-52

There is the business of the Father which means that there is the major interest of God for everybody on this world. Jesus used the term “business” to show us that it is very important and profitable to our creator. All things may be good to do but not all things are as important to God as His purpose for you. Also it points to us that the word Father is used to show us that God’s purpose for us or this business is a family business. Are you in the family of God? It is a business that profits the entire family, so if you are fulfilling the divine purpose you are profiting. Have found out the Father’s business for your life? Are you already in it? Do you think you don’t have the power? – John 1:12-13. Galatians 3:26. Are you only on the business of your earthly father or parents? Jesus knew the difference and importance – Mark 6:3

If the ladder is not leaning against the right wall, every step we take just gets us to the wrong place faster- Stephen covey

THE SONSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST-John 1:1-14, 1 John 5:1-3, Luke 1:35 The charge against Jesus, was that He claimed to be the son of God- Matthew 27:43, John 19:7; a claim He never denied but admitted- Luke 22:70. Demons called Jesus the son of God- Luke 4:41, Mark 3:11. Peter revealed it- Matthew 1:15-17. Jesus is the firstborn- Col 1:15 and first begotten- Col 1:18, Heb 1:6, Rev 1:5. As the son, He is same with the father in equality and identity- Isaiah 9:6. In the sense of begotten, it does not mean Jesus has a beginning but it is so, for our understanding of the relat...
