THE NEED FOR HOUSE FELLOWSHIP IN TODAY'S CHURCH

A Biblical Perspective On Fellowship

Mat 18:20 (Phi) "For wherever two or three people have come together in my name, I am there, right among them!"

  • Fellowship is a great privilege, possible whenever the above occurs; in church, Bible studies, prayer meetings, home groups, with roommates or family. It is how God meets our needs--it is His "supply line". Are we taking advantage?
  • Acts 4:32 (NIV) All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.

  • The worst thing we could do is to try to imitate the external behavior of the New Testament church without going through the internal changes, led by the Spirit. True fellowship requires at least: repentance, light, judgment (discernment), protection, good stewardship, the grace gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit, and real love, as we will study. All this is possible, but only "in Christ".
  • 1 Jn 1:3-4 (Phi) We repeat, we really saw and heard what we are now writing to you about. We want you to be with us in this--in this fellowship with the Father, and Jesus Christ his Son. We write and tell you about it, so that our joy may be complete.

    Destiny Fulfilment

THEME: DESTINY FULFILMENT LESSON 1: INTRODUCTION TEXT: ISAIAH 60:11 Our success in life is tied to the fulfilment of our divine destiny. Destiny could mean the things that will happen in the future or the force that controls what happens in the future and is outside human control. We should view destiny as something that is discoverable and not decisive. God decides our destiny and we discover it. Proverb 16:9, Proverb 20:24. This year God has assured us of destiny fulfilment. 1) Every man has a destiny: Exodus 2:1-10, Exodus 3:9-12 There is a divine purpose behind every divine destiny. Nobody is in the world as a mistake - we are divinely sent, placed and equipped- Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 37:23. One of the major role of God in a man's life is to ordain his destiny in him and guide him to accomplish it. 2) Man's Role in destiny fulfilment: Genesis 1:27-31, Genesis 3:14-18 Remember that God made man to be a co-creator. To the Christian man, he is the visible and tangible ...

Taking our place in God's Dominion mandate

THEME: Understanding who we are in Christ LESSON 5: Taking our place in God’s dominion mandate MAIN TEXT: Colossian 1:15-20 INTRODUCTION God gave man the dominion mandate in Genesis 1:26-28 but we cannot fully understand and operate in the dominion mandate without a relationship with Jesus Christ because in Him lies the fullness of all things and the dominion over all are under Him as the Lord of all. Matthew 28:18. 1 Peter 3:22. And we are complete in Christ. THE LORDSHIP OF CHRIST – Ephesians 1:20-23, Daniel 7:14 Jesus Christ is Lord over all because He is God. God rules over all things by His providential control – Psalm 103:19. He has achieved the final victory over sin and death through His resurrection and ascension. Christ has authority over all believers and unbelievers – Matthew 20:18. The implication of the dominion of Christ: i) He is truly the King of kings and Lord of lords – Revelation 19:16. (ii)He is the blessed and only potentate – 1 Timothy 6:15. (iii)He...

    Engaging in evangelical works

THEME- POPULATING GOD’S KINGDOM TOPIC- ENGAGING IN EVANGELICAL WORKS TEXT-  ROMANS 1:16 , 1 COR 9:16 INTRODUCTION To win a soul is to catch that soul for the Lord; to see him added to the Lord, not merely to the local church attendance. Every soul is won by the Lord Himself but He uses and is dependent upon his children for the accomplishment of his purpose. We are to be used to introduce Christ to the needy souls-  John 1:40-42 A GOING CHURCH -  MARK 16:15-18 A going church is a growing church likewise the going Christian. You must engage in the operation “go ye” to grow in the right pattern of Christ Jesus. God gives the ”going anointing” and not “a staying anointing”. The availability of ready vessels causes the oil to keep flowing –  2 Kings 4:6 Jesus Christ went about –  Acts 10:38 Jonah went to Nineveh-  Jonah 1:2 Paul & Barnabas went out-  Acts 13:1-4 Timothy was sent- 1 Cor 4:17 We should be a going church –  Ma...
