BIBLE STUDY
THEME- UNDERSTANDING LIFE PURPOSE
TOPIC- QUALITIES TO POSSESS FOR FULFILLING YOUR PURPOSE
TEXT- DANIEL 1:1-21; PROVERBS 15:22
INTRODUCTION- To have a fulfilled purpose for your life, one needs to be directed and counseled regularly because there are those who has gone before you that you need their wise advice to be successful in life. We will major on today’s topic using the account of Daniel in the bible. It is said that having a purpose is the difference between making a living and making a life.”

1) Goal Setting- Daniel 1:12-17,
Now, when you define your purpose, a purpose that shakes your heart and stirs your soul, that’s when conscious living begin. This subsequently helps you to set long- term goals that move you in the right direction (toward your purpose), in turn rippling out to your short-term goals, then action plans, then daily actions. A goal is a result that one is attempting to achieve. Daniel set a goal to be ten times more than others in the land of Babylon.
2) Self discipline – Daniel 1:8-10, Phil 3:4-7, 1 Corinthians 9:25-27, Prov 13:3
Self discipline preserves a destiny and moulds it into the form that God made it from the beginning. Despite the royal environment of Daniel he didn’t allow it to affect his decisions. Moses lost his destination because of indiscipline – Deuteronomy 3:25-29. Samson had is eyes plugged out because of indiscipline – Judges 16:19-21.
3) Prayers – Daniel 6:10-11; 20-23, Daniel 9:1-4, 17-19
Prayer is a necessity in the fulfillment of your life purpose because it is not by your strength but you need supernatural assistance to be victorious over the evil spiritual powers. Daniel was a great leader but He didn’t relent in fervent prayers. He understood prayers as a daily meal to be taken which he did three times daily.
4) Persistence and focus- Hebrew 10:38-39
This is the absence of distraction. It is channeling your energy to a particular area of interest and absolute concentration. Daniel focused on his life purpose even in Babylon he ruled with many kings but was never distracted and he knew when it was time to return to their land – Daniel 9:1-2.
5) Faith – Hebrew 4:2, Heb 11:6, Dan 11:32
Do not fear is the message to hold on to in the journey to your success. Daniel and his brothers depended on their God- Daniel 3:16-18, Daniel 6:20-22. The fear of failure has eaten up so many destinies in this life. Lot’s wife was afraid of facing her tomorrow and she could not make it beyond what her eyes could see- Genesis 19:26.
6) Hard work - Proverbs 13:4, Proverbs 19:14-15, 24.
Hard work is also vital in the fulfilling of our destiny. God has promised to bless our works and not just our wishes. So he encourages us to work and be diligent. Psalm 90:17.Deuteronomy 28:8, 12.

Introduction to Divine purpose

THEME: UNDERSTANDING YOUR DIVINE LIFE PURPOSE LESSON ONE: INTRODUCTION MAIN TEXT – PROVERBS 16:1-11 1) DEFINITION Well, there are multiple interpretations of what life purpose is. It may be called a spiritual calling and it can also be seen it as a higher instruction from God. Beyond religious connotations, a life purpose is simply your life’s message. It is the message you wish to drive in the world during your existence on Earth. Having a life purpose applies to all of us, whether we are religious, non-religious, or atheistic. This means that we are made by God to accomplish his desire in our living, so all must come to Him for directions.- Jeremiah 1:4-12. Well, a life purpose is the first step toward living a truly conscious life of your creation. While you can be busy with a million goals and tasks every day, when you don’t have a clear purpose (one that you believe in with your heart), you may well be barking up the wrong tree. That’s because your goals and tasks may well h...
